Fowler's School-Based Health Center
315-435-4410
At the SBHC students can see doctors, nurses and dental hygenists during the school day eliminating the need of the family to transport the student to the health care provider. The services are billed to the student's insurace and co-payments are wiaved -- meaning no out-of-pocket expenses for the student's family. If a student does not have health insurance, staff at the SBHC will help the family apply for insurance programs that can provide health coverage for the student. Services available at the SBHC include but are not limited to: dental exams & cleanings, physicals, sick-visits, mental health screenings and immunizations.
The primary goal of the SBHC is to improve the overall health of all Fowler students by improving access to care.
The SBHC is based on Fowlers campus and provides health care services to all students who attend the high school. In addition to the school nurse, who will staff the office during school hours there will be a nurse practitioner seeing students on a varying schedule and on a limited basis a physician, mental health counselor and dental providers will staff the center.
The SCSD now has five School Based Health Centers in the district. The others are housed at Dr. Weeks, Dr. King, Delaware and Bellevue Academy.
