Danforth Middle School is a
learning community where inquiry, critical thinking and creativity are
used in all areas of instruction. Our mission is to ensure that all
students become learners who:
- meet or exceed all New York State Learning Standards;
- exhibit and model the four community agreements - mutual
respect, attentive listening, right to pass, and appreciations/no
put downs;
- succeed in a challenging and changing world, taking
pride in their effort and achievement.
This is accomplished by:
- providing an unrelenting focus on
literacy, mathematical reasoning, and inquiry;
- creating a learning environment where
high expectations are held and the four community agreements -
mutual respect, attentive listening, right to pass, and
appreciations/no put downs, are modeled and taught;
- embracing a committed partnership with
families and the community;
- delivering effective instruction using
research-based strategies and technologies.
